Blue Turaco – London OOH Campaign
Role: Concept, design and art direction
Deliverables: Digital OOH | Social ideas | Activation ideas
When you make coffee this good, and this important, you’re bound to ruffle a few feathers.
From shaking up morning routines with bold flavour to calling out the injustices at the heart of the coffee industry, Blue Turaco have never been afraid to stand up – and speak up!
So they launched a campaign that does just that.
I teamed up with one of my favourite copywriters Clare Wilson, to build this campaign for Psalt – namely Partner Conrad Rasmussen (my former ECD) and Head of Strategy Sherice Anibaba after they won incredible media space through the Bauer Media Group Compass Scheme (designed to support underrepresented entrepreneurs and scaling businesses across the UK by providing national visibility).
Clare and I wanted to create something really attention-grabbing, on very tight budget, that would make the iconic bird on their packaging an even bigger star. And thanks to some fantastic OOH sites across London, like Tottenham Court Road, Great Portland Street, Great Marlborough Street and Westminster, plus the appearance of a mysterious Birdman on the morning commute, we think we really hit the brief.
I developed our star using Photoshop and many, many iterations, using MidJourney, Microsoft Copilot and Photoshop – to get that Blue Turaco look and swagger just right – and bring an even bolder pop of colour to the brand.
So move over pigeons – there’s a new (blue) bird in town.
“An incredible duo who pushed us to be brave, elevated everything…hands down the most incredible creative team.”
